Dr Matthew Brewer is the founder and head instructor of Daoist Internal Arts and is a full time internal arts teacher. He is a Senior Instructor in the B. K. Frantzis Energy Arts system and is a Registered Instructor with the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain. He has studied Tai Chi and related practices since 1994.
His first teacher was the much loved Brian Cookman, the first head of The Tai Chi and Chi Kung Forum for Health. Matthew and Brian started training with Master Bruce Frantzis in 1999.

He holds a PhD in Theology and Religious Studies from the University of Kent at Canterbury where for many years he taught Chinese Philosophy part-time on two M.A. courses.
He is the designer, coordinator and lead instructor of the Tai Chi for Chronic Pain Service for Kent Community Health NHS Trust.
